About
RentByCard.com exists to answer one specific question well: when does it actually make sense to pay your rent with a credit card, and how do you do it without losing money?
Rent is the biggest recurring expense most renters have. Credit card rewards programs are more generous than ever. Between those two facts lies a legitimate strategy for building wealth — but it's surrounded by misinformation and services that charge fees higher than the rewards they're trying to help you earn.
How we write our reviews
- Math first. Every recommendation includes the break-even calculation. If the fees eat the rewards, we say so.
- Independence. We use affiliate links to fund the site, but we rank by what we'd actually recommend to a friend — not by which partner pays the highest commission.
- Regular updates. Sign-up bonuses, merchant category codes, fee structures, and credit reporting policies all change. We review our top picks each quarter.
Who we are
Our editorial team has backgrounds in consumer finance, housing, and editorial work. We are not financial advisors, and nothing on this site is personalized financial advice — always run your own numbers and consult a professional for decisions that matter.
